Summer 2026 was the first ever 'Clean-up & Green-up' collaborative on Long Island!

'Keep Long Island Beautiful' is special. It’s personal. This is our home and we need to work together to keep it clean, for ourselves, for our environment, for the wildlife

We need your help! Register to join clean-up and beautification events with any of our partner organizations OR you can create your own event. Even a 2-minute cleanup is fun & easy... and make a difference.

Borrow one of our DIY 'Clean Up & Green Up' kits, available at participating Long Island libraries, free of charge (thanks to our generous sponsors)!

'Keep Long Island Beautiful' events include:

• Litter removal from roadsides, highways, shorelines and waterways
• Cleaning and restoring nature trails, recreations areas and public playgrounds
• Educating communities about waste reduction and recycling
• Planting trees, flowers and gardens
• Collecting post-event balloons for repurposing

Every clean-up, big and small, contributes to keeping Long Island’s land and waterways flourishing and safer for families and for generations to come.
